This publication, based on documentary materials found in the funds of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts, as well as on documents extracted from published sources, presents the governmental and political activities of D. Kantemir in Russia during 1712—1723.
Particular attention is paid to his participation in the legislative activities of the Governing Senate and the implementation of the ideas of Peter I on the country’s internal and foreign policy.
