A unique cup of 16th century with a lyric inscription in Arabic was found in Sudak during excavations of 2010. The cup was made for a love rite. This is archaeological evidence of the fact that the poetic images of medieval Iranian writers and miniaturists are not a mere fruit of their imagination. A cup with wine for love rites was in use in 16th —17th centuries not only in the cultural metropolis — in Iran, but also in the everyday life of the outskirts of the Ottoman Empire.
