The sociological, psychological, ethnographical, demographical, sexological and other research of childhood is focused on the systematic study of various phenomena in the child population. The archaeological methodology is based mostly on natural science types of knowledge, therefore it has become possible to make some observations in the field of archaeological childhood in the meaning of “children in archaeology”. The fund of photographic documents from the scientific archive collection of the State Museum-Reserve “Tauric Chersonesos” includes documents on which children are present — these are family members of famous archaeologists, as well as unknown persons, who, however, were not accidental participants in the excavation process. The work carried out made it possible to date the images and, in certain cases, to identify some persons, including children. Not only the photo archive, but also other documents (mainly correspondence of archaeologists) has been studied, which contain other examples of the involvement of children in the study of Chersonesos.
