The article studies the reasons behind changes in typology of silver coins and why the Egine monetary and measurement system was replaced by the Persian one in the Bosporus state in V c. B.C. In author’s opinion, the reasons must be looked for in policy of Akhemenid state in Asia Minor. Most likely, reforming its monetary system, Bosporus strived to protect itself against any external influence, from the Athenes, first of all.
