The linguist O. Trubachev proposed to place the original homeland of the Slavs on the Lower and Middle Danube, while the majority of archaeologists connect the origins of the Slavs with the Prague culture. Now, S. V. Nazin developing this hypothesis, connects the Prague culture only with the Antes. The origin of the term “Slavs”, “Sclavins”, in his opinion, relates to a more southern population of the Middle Danube area. His version dismisses the idea of Balto-Slavic Ursprache, which corresponds to constructions of some linguists. However, this version invokes some other criticisms.
