The author analyses three types of Bosphorus coins, identification of which is debatable. Typological and stylistic study of the coins with the inscription ΣΙΝΔΩΝ allowed dating them by the last quarter of V century B. C. – the time of formation of the state of Spartokhids. The coinage is associated with the history of city states on the Taman peninsula led by Pantikapeum, and in particular with the city state of Phanagoria.
