The article describes some Greek polises’ coin types which were closely connected with their religious cults. The author seeks reasons for changes in some monetary types, among which political events in Greek states. It is emphasized that changes in monetary types were caused not only by state religious cults, but also by religious views of grassroots population or demos, a typical fact for Doric polises.
