The bronze ancient matrix published here comes from the Foothill Crimea and was used to produce applications of precious metals by stamping technique. The item does not find analogues, but its features of iconography allow relating it to the goddess Demetra and dating it by 4th c. BC. It probably belonged to a Greek master of toreutics, who used to provide services to the Scythian aristocrats.
