The article deals with the analysis of the water bird (duck) shaped vessel found in a destroyed burial in the kurgan at Tochile Răducani on the Prut River, Republic of Moldova. Stratigraphy of the find points to the end of the Copper Age — beginning of the Early Bronze Age as the possible date of the burial. We find analogies to the vessel among bird-shaped askoi of the Early Bronze Age cultures of the Carpathian Bassin such as Zok, Mako and Nyírség. Its present location should be considered within the phenomena of periodical migrations of Pit-Graves culture population, who reached Great Hungarian Plain in the West on the second stage of the Early Bronze Age according to Balkan chronology.

Keywords: Carpathian-Danubian area, end of the Copper Age, Early Bronze Age, аskoi, bird-shaped vessels
