The author suggests the new five-phase periodization of the Saharna-Solonceni culture, basing on the analysis of the burials of the culture. The analysis of evolution of the ceramic ornamentation, based on this new periodization, has demonstrated an explosive growth of some parameters (index of labor costs, index of ornamentations, index of quantity and frequency of the motifs of ornamentation etc.) that occurred during the transition from phase III to phase IV. The results were compared with some key migration events of the Early Hallstattian period of the Carpathian-Dniester region. The discovered dissonance between the Cozia culture and the Saharna-Solonceni III and IV phases’ ornamentation is of special interest. This result reinforces the impossibility (suggested by the author) of the consideration of the Saharna-Solonceni and the Cozia phenomena as one culture, as well as it makes us to think that the genesis of the Cozia culture was even a more complicated process than previously supposed.
