The paper deals with the group of copper and bronze artifacts found at the Early Bronze Age sites in the North Pontic region. Burial complexes of the Yamnaya culture in the Ukraine and Moldova containing knives of two different types are different in chronological distribution. Traced chronological tendency of coexistence of two types of razor knives represents a peculiar characteristic of sites of the Yamnaya culture in the North Black Sea region, suggesting the existence of a local trend of metal working development differing from both North Caucasian and Volga-Urals centers of metal working.

Keywords: Yamnaya culture, metallurgy, knives-“razors”
