There are black-glazed vessels, including kanfaroi of different types, in the Maeotian sites of the 4th—3rd centuries BC, with prevalence of classical and cup-kantharoi types. Most vessels belong to the Attic and majority of them are found in burial grounds. The authors present a typology of kantharoi from the Kuban region and suggest dating for certain types. The article is supplied with a catalog of all known so far finds of the black-glazed kantharoi from Maeotian sites. The chronology of the kantharoi, as a rule, is synchronized with the dating of the co-occurent Greek amphorae from different production centers.
