The paper summarizes data on the nature and economy of the Yukhnov culture. It describes ecology of the region and the lifetime of the culture as a basis for the analysis of the economy. An attempt is made to analyze correlation between foraging and productive forms of economy. Economy of the Yukhnov culture can be regarded as dependent on foraging forms with the addition of agriculture (with the predominance of stock-raising over farming).
