Metal production by the Srubnaya culture communities at the advanced stage of their evolution led to the formation and dynamic evolution of a vast productional area on the territory of the Dnieper-Don region in the Late Bronze Epoch and is directly related to the activity of the Donetsk mining center. There is a cause-and-effect relation between the largest accumulation of settlements in the Middle Donets, compared to other geographic ranges of the Dnieper-Don region, and rich copper ores present in the same area (Donetsk Ridge).
