The article analyses archaeological evidence collected while digging a settlement of the Late Bronze Age (Sabatinovka culture, late stage) at Dremailovka village, Kherson Oblast in the Ukraine. The study showed that the majority of animal bones belonged to the domestic species (97.2%) with cattle prevailing (62.9%), followed by small cattle (27.5%), horse (15.2%), pig (6.7%) and dog (5%) according to the number of individuals. It is noteworthy, that sheep and goats yield to horses in respect of meat quantity. Apparently, stock was reared for meat and milk purposes. Hunting played an insignificant role in the economy of Dremailovka inhabitants, which is also true for the general Late Bronze Age population in the North Black Sea region. At the same time, a great interest was provoked by a discovery of a koulan’s or a wild donkey’s bone, as this species of the wild ungulate is quite rare in the North Black Sea region in the Bronze Age.
