The article studies M.T. Kashuba’s monograph “Early Iron Age in the Forest-Steppe between the Dniester and the Siret: Kozia-Saharna” recently published in the Stratum Plus journal (№3, 2000), which is dedicated to the problems of cultural and historical development of territories east of the Carpathians in the early I millennium BC. The author states her point of view on the problem of «early stage in iron processing» and the genesis and typology of one-ring bit. Finally, the author remarks that M.T. Kashuba’s monograph is a milestone of archaeological research of the Carpathian-Danube zone.
