The tumulus 22 near Vinogradnoje village (Zaporozhye region) was investigated in 1984. It was a part of barrow group, stretched along the flood plain of the Molochnaya River’s right bank. The tumulus was built over the Scythian Amazon grave. Later this barrow mound was used by Sarmatians.
Funeral rites of the women correspond to Scythian traditions. This complex of an Amazon stands out from series of others above all due to the presence of a sword. Furthermore, all the weaponry was put into the grave deliberately corrupted. The barrow is dated by the second quarter of 4th c. BC.
