The last four decades of Trypolye culture studies have been marked by intensive investigations of the large settlements — so-called “mega-sites” which cover areas of dozens and hundreds of hectares. It is the first time in history of Trypolye culture studies that the comprehensive method employing of aerial survey, magnetic prospection with combination of traditional excavations and field prospection is used. Now such way of investigations become standard for studies of Neolithic and Eneolithic sites all over the Europe.
