This paper is the first attempt to analyze the social structure of the population of the Perm Kama region at the late stage of the Glyadenovo culture, on the basis of materials from the Mokino burial ground. The chronological framework of the Mokino burial ground makes it possible to consider the development of the social structure during the era of the Great Migration period, when the social and religious processes in the Glyadenovo society were transformed. Fractional periodization of funerary complexes makes it possible to reveal the dynamics of social processes. At the middle stage of the Glyadenovo culture, the relative social equality of the population was preserved, expressed in religious traditions associated with the kostische (collections of bones) of Glyadenovo culture and empty burial grounds. The later stage was marked by social stratification processes and emergence of warriors as a social group, in connection with the emergence of alien military groups in the Perm region and their integration into local society. These processes were facilitated by the participation of the Kama region in the European fur trade. We can presume existence of a ‘retinue’ in the fifth century AD.
