The paper gives a detailed description of the hearths from the Eastern complex of the Palaeolithic site of Podzvonkaya in Western Transbaikalia. The analysis of the hearths themselves and the artifacts associated with them gives grounds to hypothesize that aſter these structures ceased to be exploited they could have become objects of ritual activities, marking the end of their utilitarian usage.
