The paper presents for the first time Scythian Barrow 1 of the Doly cemetery near Butory villsge, on the left bank of the Lower Dniester. The lone Scythian grave was encircled by a circular ditch with two gaps. Analysis of animal bones from the ditch showed that meat from at least five large ungulates was used during the barrow’s construction and internment. Foal bones suggest the mound was built in the fall. The burial took place in a rectangular pit, roofed with oak logs, and looted in antiquity. In the pit, the left hind leg and part of the right rib cage (part of the carcass) of a subadult horse were placed as part of a high-quality burial meal. The deceased was likely a male, supported by the discovery of bronze arrowheads from a quiver set and an iron finial. A single bead decorated with seven dots on a blue background within a white eye may have been part of a bracelet. The barrow dates to the second to third quarter of the 4th century BC.
