The archaeological data cited in the article prove that lands were granted to citizens throughout the territory of the Chersonesus state, both in the “near” and “distant” chora, on the same principles. Despite the fact that there were many more available lands in the North-Western Crimea, in comparison with the territory of the Heraklion Peninsula, was much larger, the amount of land allocated to the colonist in the “distant” chora was strictly regulated and did not exceed the size of the plots in the “near” chora of Chersonesos. The same single standard module of land plots was used in the Heraklean Peninsula and in the North-Western Crimea. The high level of standardization in the structure and size of both farmsteads and land plots in the near and distant chora of Chersonesos determined the stability of the polis system.
