Generalka 2 is the new complex of Yamnaya culture located on the Khortitsa island (river Dnieper, Zaporizhzhya region, Ukraine). System analysis of site excavations allows to draw parallels with European monuments of causewayed enclosures type. Thus, Generalka 2 expands the pan-European causewayed enclosures issue on the territory of Ukrainian steppes. Viewed features of architecture and material culture of site gives the opportunity to study it from the cultural positions, using, among other things, carnival theory. It also allows to make a conclusion about metaphors contained in the inherent to the monument architectural forms. Main architectural parameters of Generalka 2 and other European causewayed enclosures were connected with the reflection in them of social and cultural models of existence of ancient society.
