The article provides the first ever list of the cult objects made of the “Egyptian faience” found on the territory of Dagestan. It defines the challenges arising in the course of dealing with this type of objects, characterized by the religious beliefs of the population of the Early Iron Age. The article describes the context in which the objects were found and refers to various sources of information, including those kept in the archives, which allowed to exclude some objects from the list. This type of decorations is now located in the general historical-and-cultural context of 1st century BC — 5th century AD among other similar findings from the neighboring areas of the North Caucasus.

Keywords: Dagestan, North Caucasus, Early Iron Age, cult objects, “Egyptian faience”, amulets, plaques.
