Despite the extensive archaeological works of the second half of the 20th century, the number of  Upper Palaeolithic sites known in Uzbekistan still remains insignificant. However, the materials of Dodekatym 2, an open air site discovered in 2005 in the Chatkal river basin, greatly contribute to our knowledge of the Palaeolithic of the region. The authors provide a description of the stone inventory of the site and put forward a number of ideas regarding its position in a wider context.
