The authors discuss various debatable questions connected with issue of cast coins in medieval Chersonese. It is a question of technological features of coinage, their relative and absolute chronology. The considered chronological framework covers an interval from the beginning of minting of the first cast coins in the first half of 8th c. till 13th century, when the last unilateral cast coins with the monogram Ρω were thought to have been issued.
