The article is dedicated to the Greek colonization of the North-Western part of the Crimea. A number of rather important and disputable questions is being thoroughly  analyzed: the date of foundation of Chersonesus, the interpretation of the settlement on the peninsula of Maiachni, attribution and dating of curled up burials of the Chersonesus necropolis, the participation of Olbia in the colonization of the North-West of the Crimea, political inter-relations of Scythians of Chersonesus and Kerkinitide.  A wide use of initial  records, historiography of the end of the XIX – beginning of the XX c. And of the newest one, and also a critical approach to the traditional points of view makes the work extremely interesting and topical.
