The purpose of this paper is to analyse archaeological evidence of human activity in the High Bieszczady Mountains during the Late Neolithic and Bronze Age periods.
As of 2020, 72 sites dated to those periods have been discovered in the High Bieszczady, most located above 1 000 m a. s. l. on wide ridge zones of different mountain massifs. The majority of these sites have been recorded in the Połonina Wetlińska massif. They are grouped within several clusters located in specific landscape zones (areas sheltered from rain, near freshwater and saltwater springs). These sites correspond well with the palynological record of human activity in the Bieszczady in the Neolithic and the Bronze Age.
