This article deals with some cultural and linguistic peculiarities of the Russian concept of "HOUSE", which is one of the basic concepts in many cultures. The sources of the research are Russian proverbs.
The author reveals the main values of the Russian speakers connected with the concept of "HOUSE". Distribution of duties between men and women living in one house, relationship between hosts and their guests, perception of the category MINE — NOT MINE are being considered through the prism of the Russian proverbs about HOUSE.
