Analyzing the problem of origin of an ancient Chinese mythological hero Hunter Yi (Romanchuk, Panteleeva 2007, 2007a) it is necessary to touch upon the poem "Tian Wen" by Qu Yuan. In scientific literature this poem is considered to be anti-Confucian. And as long as Hunter Yi is criticized there, it is possible to assume that he belongs to Confucian tradition. The author of this study verifies the anti-Confucian hypothesis proceeding from the poem as a whole. A thorough content analysis of "Tian Wen" enabled a conclusion that Qu Yuan does not argue with Confucians. He just sets a number of philosophical questions addressed to no concrete person or culture. That is why, the author concludes, this poem can not be regarded as evidence of Hunter Yi's "central" culture origin.
