The Symbolism of Colourin the Chinese Culture

The purpose of the given work consists in the researching of symbolical value of color in the Chinese culture and revealing of sacral and «common» symbolic shades of some colors.
Color will be examined as a sign, a symbol, as the main object of research. As a subject ofthe research there will be considered the symbolic value of each of colors, their sacral and, the so-called, «common» side.The given work includes two separate researches, dynamically following one another:
The first section of the research consists of:
1. Description and disclosing of value of each of colors
2. Attempt to reveal of the importance and the role of color by the calculation of specific gravity of each of characterized colors will be undertaken.
The given method will be based on statistical calculation ofthe steady combinations of hieroglyphs, and also definition of specific gravity of each of colors in the certain symbolical values.Thus, the attempt ofcomparison ofthe data received by practical way with steady theoretical statements will be made. One ofthe basic purposes ofthe given stage is percentage calculation of a degree of positivity and negativity of each of colors and revealing of radical positive and radical negative color.
The second section of the research - the hypothesis about sacral and common value of colors will be set up. The special attention will be given to purple and blue-green color, as to the most interesting from the point of view ofthe results received at the first stage. On the basis of research of such sources of the ancient Chinese literature and poetry as Shi Jing, Yijing, Lun Yu and others, the hypothesis will be checked up.
The given method also will be based on statistical calculation of total of occurrence of each color in various sources, and also the analysis of the context.
