Based on the English landscape-related stock of words, the author derives such linguistic and cultural concepts as bottom, depth and boundaries, which seem to be different from those of the Russian language and culture. While the English bottom seems to have a positive connotation, depth does not, which infers that boundary is accepted positively, as opposed to something borderless or endless. At the same time, depth and endlessness are quite positive concepts in the Russian language.
