For the last decade two new sites have been pushed insistently among fortified Getian settlements of the forest steppe between the Dniester and Prut Rivers — Mascauti “Dealul cel Mare” and Saharna “La Sant”. A detailed analysis of published materials leads to the conclusion that the traces of the so-called defence lines can’t be anything else but remains of paddock or sheepfold enclosures.
