The authors compare pottery technologies of residents of the Borisov settlement (Vorskla (?) group) with materials from the settlement of the southwestern outskirts of the Middle Don culture (Ostroukhovo hillfort-1) and a settlement (Petropavlovsk hillfort-1) of the Scythian period on the border of the Dnieper-Don forest-steppe. They studied the technological and morphological features of the stucco ceramics found at the three Scythian settlements in the forest-steppe zone of the Don-Dnieper interfluve. The study of ceramic manufacturing technology was conducted from a historical and cultural perspective, drawing on the approach developed by A. A. Bobrinsky in the study of ancient pottery. The results of the study indicate that the ceramic traditions of the two archaeological sites — the settlements of Borisovka and Ostroukhovo — have a fairly high degree of uniformity. Petropavlovsk settlement is characterized by a lower degree of uniformity of pottery traditions.
