The site of Katarzhino 1 is located on the cape of the right bank of the Maly Kuyalnik River, 2 km to the north from the village of Chervonoznamenka (Ivanovka District of the Odessa Oblast). The survey of the site in 2007—2009 revealed the vertical deformation of cultural layer caused by moles and shrews activity. The stone inventory of the site is typical for the Grebeniki and Kukrek complexes. The presence of small fragments of pottery gives the possibility to attribute the site to the Neolithic epoch.
