The article presents information about study of Neolithic-Eneolithic archaeological sites in the Mugan Steppe and characterizes material from the settlements Polutepe and Alkhantepe. Archaeological works at these sites are being conducted in the context of examination of natural prerequisites for spread of early agricultural population throughout the Caucasus, dynamics and directions of this process.
