The article presents results of the excavation of a small tumulus in the vicinity of the fortified settlement of Kartal in 2007. It is in the tumulus that 4 graves of the Copper Age and Bronze Age as well as 2 complexes of the pre-Scythian time (the Middle Hallstatt period) were uncovered.
