Despite the vast historiography, analysis of the issue of Roman coin inflow sources into the territory of Eastern Europe remains relevant to this day. The analysis of the numismatic finds makes it impossible to speak about some universal sources of their inflow to the Chernyakhov territory. On the contrary, in different periods of existence of this culture, each chronological group of coins had its own source of inflow. The issue of the sources of inflow of the Republican coins remains open. Trade and military-political activities of the barbarians were not significant sources of inflow of the coins of the 1st—2nd cc. AD, as these coins came to the territory of Chernyakhov culture not from the territory of the Empire, but from Central Europe, where they came to early German population at the end of 2nd — early 3rd cc. AD. We can connect the events of military-political character with the coins inflow of 3rd c., which could be brought by barbarians from the territory of the Roman provinces, mainly, as the military production. The coins of the early — third quarter of 4 c. AD penetrated to the barbarians in different ways: as the result of trade, as payment for the military service in the territory of the Empire, as gifts of the Roman authorities. The source of the coins inflow of the last quarter of the 4th—5th cc. AD, most probably, was trade.
