Medzhibozh is known as palaeontological locality for about 100 years. The first artifacts were recovered here in the 1950s, and new materials were obtained at the turn of the 21st century. Pilot archaeological survey of 2008—2009 revealed presence of modified bone and stone objects in Zavadovka (Holstein) sediments.
