The catalogue of petroglyphic depictions of mammoth is the most comprehensive inventory of known paintings and engravings in caves and grottos of Europe. They are chiefly represented by outline drawings of single mammoths and their paintings together with other Pleistocene animals. There are complicated drawings. Mammoths are depicted half face with all distinctive features. Even schematic drawings are easily recognized by dorsal hump, spherical top of the skull or spiral tusks, pointed outwards.
